Getting around Soho Theatre

Soho Theatre is on the left hand side of Dean Street, coming from Oxford Street.
From the street there is a mild slope leading up towards the front doors.
The box office is immediately to your left as you enter the building. This is staffed from 9.30am to 10pm.

There are five floors in the theatre. The Downstairs cabaret space at basement level, the bar and box office at Ground level, the main theatre and terrace bar is at level 2, and our Upstairs performance space is at level 3. Level 1 is the entrance to our production offices.

As you walk past the box office and through an open doorway, there are stairs to the Downstairs cabaret space on the left. The lift is also on the left hand side just after the stairs.

The lift says what floor you are on and all buttons are in braille.

The stairwell has handrails on either side.
There are:
18 steps to the first floor.
36 steps to the second floor.
53 steps to the third floor.
21 steps to Soho Theatre Downstairs cabaret space.

The Theatre

The theatre’s main entrance is on the second floor, diagonally right from the stairwell and lift.
This entrance leads to the top, back level of the theatre.
There are 19 steps downwards to the front row.
If you use a wheelchair, you can enter the auditorium from the first floor, this will mean you enter at stage level.
Soho Theatre staff will be available to assist.

The Upstairs performance space (previously called the Studio) is situated on the third floor, diagonally left from the stairs and lift shaft.
There is a mild ramp into the space.
The majority of seating is at floor level.
The front row is available if you use a wheelchair.

The new Downstairs comedy and cabaret space seats 150 people and has cabaret style seating, with seats set around tables.
Downstairs is located in the basement. You can reach it by taking the 21 stairs, or using the lift just beyond the Box Office.
The stairs and lift take you down to a corridor, there are two double doors, which can hold themselves open which you go through before reaching the cabaret space. There are numerous seats and tables. They are laid out in a cabaret seating arrangement – a bit like a restaurant.

Our bar is on the ground floor. Entrance is through a push door, opposite the lift shaft at ground level.

The Terrace bar is on the second floor of the theatre, to the right of the stairwell and lift shaft.

Drinks can be taken into the auditorium in a plastic cup.

There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground, second and third floor of the theatre.

Ground floor: There are men and ladies’ toilets on the ground floor directly opposite the main entrance at the back of the building.

Second floor: There are unisex toilets situated to the left of the lift shaft and stairs.
